Bio
Head of Design for Claude Co-work at Anthropic. Voluntarily returned to IC from a Director-of-Design seat at Figma when she "wasn't sure middle management was safe in the future." Earlier at Dropbox, Square, and Shopify. Vocal advocate for the position that the diverge-converge-research-mock-iterate design process is dead, replaced by a two-mode pattern of code-pairing plus 3–6 month direction-setting prototypes.
Operating themes
- The design pie chart shifted. From 60% mocking to 30% mocking + 30% pairing + 20% code.
- Three hiring archetypes. Block-shape, deep specialist, craft new-grad.
- Illegibility framework. Watch for energy without articulation; that's the next bet.
- AI taste will get good. Humans hold the decision seat, not the unique-creative-judgment seat.
